GPU & Graphics Card Repair
Graphics cards are expensive to replace and often simple to fix. No display, card not detected, burnt power connector or a shorted power stage — I repair GPUs at the component level, locally in Charleston or by mail.
Melted 12VHPWR connector
Burnt or melted 16-pin power connector on RTX 40 and 50 series cards. Connector replacement and board inspection.
No display / not detected
Fans spin but no picture, card missing from the system, or the PC won’t boot with it installed.
Shorted power stages
Failed MOSFETs, capacitors and power controllers — the usual cause of a card that suddenly dies.
HDMI & DisplayPort repair
Damaged or broken video output ports replaced on the board.
Physical damage
Components knocked off during install or shipping, cracked boards and broken solder joints.
Fans & thermals
Noisy or dead fans, overheating, fresh thermal paste and thermal pads.
Why repair instead of replace?
A high-end graphics card can cost more than the rest of the PC put together. When one dies, it’s usually a single failed part — a shorted capacitor, a blown MOSFET, or a connector that overheated — not the GPU chip itself.
I find the fault on a bench power supply, track down the failed component under the microscope, and replace it. The free diagnosis tells you what’s wrong and what it’ll cost before any work starts.
How mail-in worksGPU repair FAQ
Can a dead graphics card be repaired?
Often, yes. Many 'dead' GPUs have a shorted MOSFET, capacitor or power controller, a damaged connector, or a component knocked off the board. Those are repairable at the component level for much less than a new card.
Can you fix a melted 12VHPWR / 16-pin power connector?
Yes. The damaged connector is removed, the pads are cleaned and inspected, and a new connector is soldered on. If the heat damaged anything else on the board, I'll find it and quote that too.
My GPU fans spin but there's no display. What's wrong?
That can be a power rail fault, a failed display output, a VRAM problem or a firmware issue. The free diagnosis narrows it down before you spend anything.
Do you accept GPUs by mail?
Yes. Graphics cards are one of the most common mail-in repairs. Open a ticket first, then ship the card in an anti-static bag with plenty of padding. Return shipping is fully insured for replacement value.
Which cards do you work on?
NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon desktop graphics cards, including RTX 20, 30, 40 and 50 series and RX 5000 to 9000 series. Send me the exact model for a quote.

Diagnostics are free. Tell me the model and what’s going on, and I’ll let you know honestly whether it can be saved and what it’ll cost — before any work starts.
